John,
First off I really enjoy watching the video blogs you do on the techniques and conditioning drills. My students are really taking a liking to the ground pound and drag drill.  Also the Warts and all drill is fitting great into the conditioning.  Thanks for what you have done for Krav Maga!

The pleasure is all mine.  While I appreciate the thanks, I am looking forward to all that WE can do together for Krav Maga. Feel free to post your own work outs, or talk about ideas here!

I have found that doing medicine ball jumping slams helps me driving forward and imposing my will on my “attackers” during self defense.  Basically starting out with the ball at my knees/waist.  Jumping up and raising the ball over my head.  as I come down slamming the ball down as HARD AS I CAN and seeing how high I can make it bounce.  10-12 lb ball is great plus you can make your own by cutting open an old basketball filling full of sand or other material and then using lots and lots of athletic tape for grip.  can get up to 20lbs with sand. Usually go about 3-4 sets of 15-20 slams depending on the day and how my kids are behaving that day, LOL

Also has help develop “heavy hands” on self defense as well.  As in choke from side and delivering palm to groin and elbow to face the transition to trapezius grip can be also a forearm shot to the neck (heavy hands).  then applying the grip and well as the same side arm.  Its a good way to keep the attacker disoriented.  especially even in training when your partner does not expect it.  Just make sure to not go 100% otherwise you make knock them out if well placed.

Anyway just some tidbits, lots of other things like doing step ups with a resistance band attached as well as jumping switches with the resistance band as well

Take care, train hard, train safe, impose your will

Jeremy

These are not really KM conditioning drills, but the Crossfit workouts can be very intense and some only last for 10 minutes or so, not much longer than your average warm-up.

I’ve tried Crossfit too and it is a pretty intense exercise really. Luckily enough I can last for more than 10 minutes.
