I am doing Krav Maga training twice a week and one day a week is more of a fighting class.
When we do Krav we really work hard on the conditioning, pre fatigue work out before working on techniques.
So I get pretty good conditioning workouts 2 or 3 times a week.

I try to get in a day of full body weight lifting and try to get another day of GPP (General Physical Prepardeness + striking practice).

I am wondering what everybody else does besides Krav Maga training.

Hi!
CrossFit is a great workout.  Any high-intensity, short duration conditioning is good. Are you famiiar with Tabata protocols (I am guessing you might be, if you do a lot of bodyweight exercises).

Along with Krav Maga I am doing a work out at API (Athletic Performance Inc.) Longview TX. This is “caveman training”.  Similar to what Crossfit entails with Constantly varied, high intensity, functional movements.  This is a program that I would one day like to have at our school. It maintains the same fighting spirit that you need and use in Krav.  Keep your hands up and your head in the game.

Hi John.  Yes I have done Tabata Protocols before, love them.  A great way to get in a good workout when you don’t have a lot of time.

I do crossfit type of workouts, High intensity interval training along with working Bas Rutten CD’s.  Also have been doing some extensive BJJ training here in San Antonio with Brazilian Top Team School. The great part is that there is alot of work on takedowns and wrestling as well as ground work which we all know is very grueling on the cardio.

Krav 3 times per week, MMA/BJJ 2-3 times per week, Crossfit twice a week.  Sometimes bag class.  Yoga once a week.

In the last few weeks, while getting ready for phase, I’ve dropped the Crossfit & replaced it with having an insane demon in a krav shirt train me on the heavy bag, punch me, and yell at me to go harder.  Crossfit’s looking pretty good right now.

Good luck on Phase test Miss Parker.  I knew you worked pretty hard from T-Nation. I don’t post there much but I read a lot on it.

Good luck again on your testing.

Hey, Jarc, I love T-nation!  I dropped 40 pounds of fat & got strong because of that site.  What’s your name there?

EDIT:
Ooh, nevermind.  I found you there.  Your name is Jarc!

Yep…you found me.  That site has tons of info on workouts and nutrition.  And everybody is so helpful, Shugart especially.  He told me not to do the Velocity diet because of Krav, he said I would probably loose too much muscle.  And I can’t stop Krav.
I am so addicted to it and I love the whole philosophy of Krav too.

EDIT:  I just realized you said you lost 40 pounds!!!  Wow that is awesome. Way to go and let me know how your testing goes.

I have yet to start training in Krav Maga but my home gym is a place in Clive Iowa called Spartan Strength Performance Gym.  We do a lot of the “caveman training” as well.  On Mondays and Wednesdays we do grappling/jiu jitsu training and Tusedays and Thursdays we working on striking, which usually involves a good deal of muay thai pad work and some conditioning drills.

Im there for 2 hours every day.  That place is like my second home.

Hi to all.  I’m new to this forum but couldn’t resist commenting on this topic.  I’ve been training at home a couple days a week, trying to practice the basics with my “Bob” and heavy bag.  On my other days, I primarily train with kettlebells.  I’ve found them to be a great way to build my strength and endurance.  I’m currently training for rank in Girevoy Sport and am both American Kettlebell Club and HKC certified.  I’d be interested to read about what others are doing for home training.
